ArcPIC is a 2d3v particle-in-cell (PIC) code with Monte Carlo collisions. It is taylored specifically for simulating copper vacuum discharges in a cylindrical geometry.

Main features:

  • PIC tracker with first-order cloud-in-cell shape function;
  • Extensive model for the plasma-electrode interaction: electron field emission, neutral evaporation, and various sputtering processes;
  • Elastic, ionisation, charge-exchange, and Coulomb collisions;
  • External electric circuit model.
